Korea-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT

June 16-17, 2008
COEX
Seoul, South Korea

A 2-day Cooperation Event, entitled “Korea-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT”, will be organised on June 16-17, 2008 at the COEX in Seoul under the aegis of the European Commission (DG Information Society and Media), of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), and of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE), Korea.

Event Objective

The main expected outcome of the "Korea-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT" is the identification of potential cooperation projects in areas of mutual and strategic interest. The European Commission and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy will propose a list of such areas, i.e. of ICT research topics to be addressed through thematic sessions. However, several parallel sessions will have an open theme, so that European and Korean organisations willing to address a different research topic can have the opportunity, if selected through the Call for papers process, to present their contributions during the parallel sessions as well.

Targeted Audience

The "Korea-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT" targets an audience of 100 to 150 representatives (at the level of project manager, head of laboratory, etc.) from European and Korean organisations (multinationals, SMEs, academia, research institutes & laboratories, etc.) specialising in the addressed research areas on which the Forum will be focusing.

Admission

Participation will be free of charge but subject to pre-registrations!

Overall Event Structure

Please note: Technical visits will also be organised the day after the event to provide European delegates with an opportunity to visit leading research laboratories in Daejeon. The programme of the Technical visits can be downloaded here.
